MISSION
To assist Johnston County citizens with needs in locating and accessing the necessary
resources to address their educational, health, and welfare concerns and to fill gaps in services
where they exist, and is to be accomplished by promoting a diversified membership and
advancing a spirit of commitment among its members in volunteer service.

where they exist, and is to be accomplished by promoting a diversified membership and
advancing a spirit of commitment among its members in volunteer service.
PURPOSE
- To serve citizens with needs in Johnston County in their quest to lead a meaningful life.
- To educate citizens about resources available so that they, in turn, may educate others to
"Serve the Need".
- To break down barriers of inequality in resources by assuring that resources are equally
available and accessible and provided to all without regard to gender, race, age, national
origin, sexual orientation or disability.
- To build partnerships with Johnston County churches, civic clubs, organizations, public school
and community college systems, and with public health, mental health and social service
agencies so as to better serve citizens with needs.
- To advocate at appeal hearings on behalf of citizens who are denied services without apparent
justification or who appear to be subjects of discrimination.
VISION and VALUES
- All citizens desire to live a meaningful life and to help others to achieve the same.
- All citizens are created equal and should have the same life opportunities and
resources.
